- Who is it for?
The course is aimed at candidates who have a grounding in fabrication and welding processes. It is ideal for those wishing to upskill and expand their present abilities to meet the future demands of an ever-changing engineering environment, in areas such as CNC Press Brakes, Laser Cutting and Robotic Welding processes.
- Entry Requirements
Candidates will require a solid understanding of welding and fabricating processes, and a base knowledge of technical drawings/2D CAD software would be an advantage.
- What does the course involve?
The course comprises the following:
- Transferring DFX files to CNC folding equipment
- Programming folding equipment to account for different metal and alloy properties
- Programming laser cutters for cutting and etching
- Application of different cutting gases for types of metals and alloys
- Programming robotic welders to produce MIG-welded joins for production.
- How is the course assessed?
This is a college-certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks.
