SSFC takes seriously its responsibility to promote the well-being and interests of its students.

SSFC will work with staff, students and other providers and professionals to ensure that students feel and keep safe and are supported appropriately.
 

Safeguarding Young People

Shrewsbury Sixth Form College has a statutory and moral duty to ensure that it functions with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people receiving education at college. Shrewsbury Sixth Form College is committed to provide a safe learning environment that is based upon positive well-being, personal safety and security for all students and all staff.

Consultation arrangements for obtaining the views of staff and students

Following changes made in the Education Act 2011 and subsequent changes to the Instrument and Articles of Government, a new Article – 3(1)(aa) requires the Corporation to publish their arrangements for obtaining the views of staff and students on the determination and periodic review of the educational character and mission of the institution and the oversight of its activities. Shrewsbury Sixth Form College values the views of all staff, students and stakeholders and uses their views as an integral part of the determination and periodic review of the educational character and mission of the College.
