Performing Arts
If you were born to perform as an actor, a dancer or a musical theatre performer our courses will give you the professional training needed to hone your technique, develop your skills, and help you stand out in this competitive industry.
Whether you want to be in front or behind the camera, on-stage or backstage, our courses will provide you with professional, up-to-date training to maximise your chances of entering the industry directly or securing a place at a specialist drama or dance school, or university.
Our A Level in Drama and Theatre will help you gain new skills and knowledge in the dramatic arts. This is a practical, engaging, and creative course where you will examine the work of drama practitioners, explore drama as a practical art form, and work independently to create your own performances.
On our vocational performing arts courses, you’ll rehearse in our large dance and drama studios and perform in our working performance black box theatre, developing the confidence to succeed in the industry.
The Level 2 Performing Arts course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your singing, acting and dance skills, as well as understanding professional development and industry requirements.
Our Level 3 Performing Arts course allows you to specialise in one of three areas (acting, dance and musical theatre) and you will get the opportunity to build skills in your chosen area and put them into practice in our large-scale performances which take place in Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury’s arts venue. You will be given broad-based training enabling you to tackle a range of professional challenges and practical work is supported by an understanding of the industry, its practitioners and performance theory.
