What will I study?
Includes assignments in a range of disciplines e.g. fine art, photography, graphic design, 3D design, and textiles, and you can develop your drawing skills and undertake contextual studies. You will be taught by artists and designers in an Art School context and have opportunities to specialise but will also be encouraged to cross creative boundaries. The natural progression from this programme is to Higher Education. Your tutors will support you in building a portfolio of work, and help you to decide which area of art and design is most appropriate for you to specialise in.
Where does it lead?
Over 2 million people are employed in the creative industries according to the Confederation of British Industry. These industries, which range from advertising to architecture and fashion to film, constitute one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK. Young British artists and designers are at the forefront of the world’s creative industries. To develop a career you will generally need to study further at university and maintain a portfolio of practice.
